Bandini competed in Formula One from 1961 to 1967, driving for teams such as Scuderia Centro Sud, Scuderia Ferrari, and North American Racing Team (NART). He achieved his first podium finish in 1964 and secured his only Formula One victory at the Austrian Grand Prix in 1964.

Unfortunately, Bandini's promising career was cut short when he was involved in a fatal crash during the 1967 Monaco Grand Prix.
